A bright idea for your next team-up

The elemental duo has found another temple, and this one asks you to think about where the light goes. Fireboy and Watergirl 2: The Light Temple combines the familiar two-character platform puzzles with light-based mechanisms that can change the route through a room.

It is a lovely choice for players who enjoy a small shared mystery. One person notices a beam, the other spots a route, and a few experiments later the whole room makes sense. You can also control both heroes yourself if you prefer to be the entire planning committee.

Click inside the player before pressing movement keys. The publisher lists mobile control options, but a keyboard gives two people more room to coordinate. Check the loaded game's Options menu for any available touch setup.

Your basic objective is to guide both characters safely to their exits. Fireboy must avoid water, Watergirl must avoid fire, and the green hazards are unsafe for both. The light mechanisms add another layer: look for what a beam reaches, what interrupts it, and which part of the scene responds.

Three ways to make the temple click

Trace the beam before moving everything

Follow a light path with your eyes and look for the mechanism it influences. When an object changes position, watch what changes elsewhere. You are learning the room's connections, so a careful experiment can reveal more than several hurried moves.

Give each character a job

Decide who is scouting and who is operating a switch or moving an object. In a pair, say when you are about to move. Alone, leave the inactive character in a safe position before turning your attention to the other side.

Keep a way out for your helper

Opening a route for one character feels like progress, but check how the second will follow. Before leaving a mechanism behind, look for a return path or another way to keep the route available. Planning for both characters is the heart of the puzzle.

Need a small nudge?

The optional video is “Fireboy and Watergirl 2 - Full Game Walkthrough (Light Temple)” by Blitzingame. It is an independently published, no-commentary walkthrough of this entry in the series. Use it to spot a missed mechanism or compare a route that is not quite working.

Pause once you have the idea and give your own team another attempt. The video may show different menus from the embedded version; the in-game controls remain the final guide. YouTube is contacted only when you choose to load the video.

Do I need to finish the Forest Temple first?

No. This is a separate game. The Forest Temple is a useful place to practice the two-character controls if they are new to you.
